I'd been trying to find affordable first walking shoes that follow barefoot principles (wife toe box, zero drop, thin and flexible sole etc), and these seem to tick all the boxes. Got these when my little one first started walking independently at 15 months. He's now a much more confident walker at 17 months and these are still his favourite shoes as they're so comfortable. Easy to put on and off, look super cute and have held up well outside on grass, stones and the playground. Rubber sole is flexible yet supportive and slip resistant. Not waterproof as have a mesh upper, but unless they're jumping into puddles or walking through heavy rain this shouldn't be an issue. Brilliant value for money and I will be purchasing another pair when he needs the next size up.

I originally ordered these for my son when he was 11 months old and his feet were 13cm long. I ordered a 5.5 so he'd have room to grow and not get rubbed by the shoes. He walks very well in these and the soles are nice and flexible and they have a wide toe box so they don't squish his toes. These are a lot better compared to a pair of Clarks shoes he was sized up for in-store. He's nearly 13 months now and his feet have grown to nearly 13.5cm and they're still great for him and could probably go another few months before needing another size. I would definitely recommend these.
