The media could not be loaded. The boots are quite light with a cosy faux fur lining and covered insoles so they are comfortable and warm to wear. They have quite a cool, casual style and the uppers are made from textured nylon-type fabric and faux leather material. They are really easy for kids to get on and off as the lacing detail is elastic and they have a good length velcro strap closure at the ankle to allow for a comfortable and secure fit. As these are barefoot style boots they don't have a rigid sole like some boots. The sole is textured rubber so is quite flexible and is thinner than standard boot soles. The insoles help ensure they are comfortable but I do wonder how durable the soles will be on tougher terrain - we shall see. The toes of the boots are wide to save little toes from being squished or rubbed and the sizes seem quite true. With the wee one being between sizes, I erred on the side of caution and went for the size 3 and they should last him a good while and also allow for thicker socks in the winter. We haven't had the chance to try them in wet weather or on stoney terrain but for general wear they seem really good.

Great quality boots, my grandson love them. It’s can be difficult to find reasonably priced and good quality boots for boys so when these came up for review, I had to give them a try. They are such good quality and very comfortable! If you ask my grandson to put his shoes on, he looks for these to put on. He will definitely get plenty of wear out of them.

I got these for my 9-year-old to wear when we go to Lapland, I’m not sure that they’ll be suitable for that kind of weather due to the thin soles, but they’ll be great in the UK during the winter. They are extremely comfortable and great at keeping his feet warm. They are also true to size. They are very lightweight and the velcro strap makes them easy to take on and off.

My btabddaughger was delighted with her boots and they were clearly comfortable and easy to put on. And I appreciated that the natural shaping means room for young toes to move and grow. Asa rather old-fashioned grannie where kids feet are concerned I worry a little about the modern habit of buying children leisure shoes — such as the ubiquitous trainers — and boots without having them fitted professionally. So the idea of footwear specially designed to allow natural movement seems an excellent one. However, I wish the designers had paid as much attention to other aspects of functionality. Fortunately my granddaughter was very keen to try out her new boots and since it was a snowy day it seemed an ideal opportunity. The product description sms to indicate a fair degree of weatherproofing so off she went. And came home with very cold, very wet feet because the boots had done nothing to protect her poor little red toes from snow. It’s just very fortunate that she wanted to try her boots when she did as the family was due to visit friends in Austria a week or two later, and a very snowy, alpine Austria too. If she had only had those boots it would have been a much less enjoyable visit and have greatly curtailed her outdoor activities. So if you are bungee the boots as a fun fashion item without compromising too much on a child’s foot health these would no doubt be fine, especially they only have to cope with a little rain or the occasional shallow puddle. Even, the, though, I’d be inclined to give them a good goingober with a waterproofing spray. What an opportunity lost by this manufacturer. It surely wouldn’t have been too hard or too costly to make these attractive boots really winter-proof. At present they’re not really much more than a fun item for nothing more than drizzly days. Such a pity.

'Barefoot' and 'winter' are a strange combination. However, as long as your child has very thick socks or very thick skin, these winter boots might be okay as long as the footpaths are in bright sunshine. The rubber soles have a good tread pattern but they are very thin. Apart from the obvious lack of insulation and protection from sharp objects such as hawthorn spines and sharp stones, I would not expect the soles to last very long so are unlikely to represent good value in the long term. They look very well made with no obvious stitching or glueing issues. One of them is a bit out of shape due to being squashed in the bag but I expect this will correct itself once they have warmed up to room temperature. In terms of fit: my tester is a tall, four year old and she had no trouble getting in and out of the 10.5 size. The hook and loop fasteners work very well and she liked the furry lining and the overall comfort.
